Abstract

Mali is a West African country that is particularly notable for its linguistic diversity. There are
thirteen (13) national languages distributed and listed in different regions according to ethnic
groups. In the capital, which is mainly a meeting place, Bamanankan prevails over other
languages in terms of speakers. However, other languages to the point that speaking authentic
Bamanankan becomes a difficult challenge influence this language. Among these borrowings,
those of Arabic origin are the most structuring of the Bamanan dialect. This article consists of
making a lexicon-semantic and stylistic analysis of the borrowings of Arabic origin integrated
into Bamanankan. It is developed around the questions: what is the morphology of the integrated
borrowings of Arabic origin in Bamanankan? What is the stylistic scope of these borrowings?
As a result, it turned out that the lexicological construction of these loan words underwent a
major transformation to adapt to the Bamanankan lexicon, especially on the phonological level.
The stylistic analysis made it possible to highlight the historical aspect of this contact existing
between Bamanankan and Arabic.
